Hoefer Wysocki Architects (HWA) is an award-winning architectural firm with major success in the markets of healthcare, judicial, government and commercial design services. HWA is a growing firm, providing a full range of architectural services, from planning and design through construction management. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our dynamic team of marketing professionals in our Kansas City, Missouri office.

HWA is seeking a Marketing Director.

Position Overview: Organizes, plans, schedules and manages the firm’s marketing activities including proposal development, advertising, professional communications, public relations and marketing planning. Responsibilities include providing support to the Business Development team in their selling efforts; monitoring the progress of all marketing efforts; management of marketing coordination staff; organizing the development of all marketing administrative systems.

Qualifications:  The Director of Marketing is able to independently mobilize resources within the marketing group and from outside vendors and agencies to assist the firm in the acquisition of new business and the retention of existing clients. This role includes responding to requests for proposals, developing presentation materials, maintaining on-going client communications and enhancing the firm’s visibility and image through advertising and public relations activities. Excellent grammar, oral communications, and interpersonal skills are essential for successful performance in this position. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Word and Excel required. Experience with Deltek Vision a plus. 5-7 years of marketing A/E/C services experience required; background in proposal coordination preferred. Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in communications, marketing, or a related field.

Primary Accountabilities:

  • Organizes, plans, schedules and manages the firm’s marketing communications activities including proposal development, advertising, professional communications, public relations and marketing planning
  • Manage staff of 2-3 marketing coordinators
  • Direct and/or coordinate content and graphics for complex proposals
  • Write, edit and proof copy for submittals and general marketing communications
  • Provide support to the Business Development team in their selling efforts
  • Monitor and report on the progress of all marketing efforts
  • Organize and maintain marketing administrative systems
