Spring Hill Mayor Steven Ellis recently dedicated the new police station to Donald Stephens. Pictured above is wife of Stephens, Paula, and Police Chief Richard Mann, cutting the ribbon to honor her late husband. The station has been dedicated to him as he served on the Spring Hill Public Safety Advisory Board and the Fire District #1 Board of Directors. He had a long history of civic and community service including Mayor from 1991-1992, City Council Member and Council President from 1985-1991.
Yony Cohen returns to Hoefer Wysocki after an eight year hiatus while working in Israel, where he has lived most of his life. With a degree from the University of Kansas, he is also a licensed architect and a LEED accredited professional in Israel. Yony was one of the first five employees when Hoefer Wysocki opened our doors in 1996. We’re excited to have him back!
James Evrard, Associate AIA, joins our architecture department. With a B.A. degrees from Kansas State University and the University of Missouri – Kansas City, he has also studied architecture in Italy and has participated in competitions centered in the U.S., Europe and Asia. James is a founding member of Architecture for Humanity in Rhode Island, where many of his projects are located, but is excited to be back in Kansas City. We are excited to have him join our team!
Ryan Falk joins the Hoefer Wysocki team as an Intern Architect. He is currently attending the University of Kansas and completing a health and wellness internship through the university’s program. Originally from Onaga, Kansas, Ryan enjoys camping, hiking and fishing. We’re excited to have him join the team!
Amanda Connor joins our interiors department as an Interior Designer. She is a recent graduate from Kansas State University, where she followed in her dad’s footsteps through the Interior Architecture and Product Design program to receive her masters. She was born and raised to be a diehard Cats fan and we’re excited to have her!
Stephani Chaffin joins our interiors department as an Interior Designer. She is from Olathe, Kansas and is a recent graduate from Kansas State University receiving her Masters of Interior Architecture and Product Design. Stephani is currently busy planning her upcoming August wedding. We’re excited to have her part of the team!
Bryce Cummings joins the Hoefer Wysocki team as an Intern Architect. He recently graduated from Kansas State University with a Masters of Architecture. His studies included a semester-long study abroad in Orvieto, Italy. Bryce joins us with professional construction experience gained through a previous internship in Colorado, his home state. Welcome Bryce!
Kathy Kim joins our team as an Intern Architect. She is a recent graduate with a Masters of Architecture from the University of Kansas and received a graduate certificate in health and wellness. Kathy is from St. Louis and joins us with previous work experience in Dallas, Texas. She enjoys hiking, volleyball and traveling. Help us welcome her to the team!
Megan Thurlow joins our marketing department this summer as an intern, focusing on providing graphic design support for our promotional materials. She is currently attending Kansas State University pursuing a BFA in Graphic Design with a minor in Business. Megan is from Chapman, Kansas and is a Pi Beta Phi alumni. We’re excited to have her on the team so she can show off her photography skills!
Ashley Pyle joins Hoefer Wysocki as an Interior Designer with seven years of experience. She is a graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from the University of Missouri. As a mother of two she keeps busy! Help us welcome her to the team.
The Kansas State University Foundation will begin development in October 2014 of Phase I of a master plan that includes a 59,000-square-foot office building. Originally started in 2007, the completed project cost is estimated to be $11.5 million, which will be financed through a commercial loan. Future phases will feature three additional buildings that will include corporate offices and lab space. Hoefer Wysocki Architecture’s founding Partner, Mitch Hoefer, was recently featured in an Ingram’s Magazine article, “Architects, Engineers Designing for a Brighter Future.” A panel of Kansas City-based architects and engineers, that included Mitch Hoefer, were interviewed about the challenges the American economy has brought to project budgets, schedules and the overall outlook on the industry’s future. “The days of being able to pull the trigger on a building are still not back, but there is still a need for a decent number of tenants before you can pull the trigger and get the funding,” Mitch states, referring to speculative new office projects. We are excited to officially open the doors at our new office location in the heart of downtown Dallas, Texas! We will be on the fifth floor within the 50-story landmark, Trammell Crow Center. We have worked in the area for many years and are eager to finally be a part of the business community. Within the first week of opening we have already been awarded four projects. The Yaeger + Hoefer Wysocki Healthcare Design Team would like to thank the Boone Hospital Center Board of Trustees for awarding our team with the new 65,000 SF Signature Building that is located on 13.2 acres at the southeast corner of Nifong and Forum in Columbia, Missouri.
