Hoefer Wysocki Chili Cook-Off

On Friday, February 21, we hosted our annual Hoefer Wysocki Chili Cook off.  It was the largest one to date with more than 20 entries. We had several categories for the winners which included: most exotic ingredient, best apron, spiciest chili, and more. We want to give a big thank you to our staff that helped make the event possible and to those that brought chili.

United Way Week 2013

This past week Hoefer Wysocki participated in United Way Week for the seventh year in a row. Our theme this year was Candyland and as a firm, we raised over $15,000 for people in need within the Kansas City community.

The office was divided up into four teams, all of which were candy themed and consisted of M&Ms, Smarties, Baby Ruth, and PopRocks. Some of you might know that here at Hoefer Wysocki, we are always up for a friendly competition in our office, and this week was no different!

Each day, the teams competed against each other for points in activities such as basepong, trivia, singing bee, and a pop quiz! Since United Way Week fell on the same week as Halloween, our staff dressed in costumes on Friday for team photos and a best dressed competition! Team M&M took the overall win with the highest amount of donations, but Team PopRocks had the most participation points of the week!

Take a look at some of the photos below! We had a lot of fun and enjoyed contributing to a wonderful cause to benefit our community members in need!

Hoefer Wysocki Hosts End of Summer Picnic

To celebrate the end of a rather long and successful summer here at Hoefer Wysocki Architecture, our Culture Club hosted a “Picnic in the Park” day with friends and family at Porter Park in Prairie Village, Kan. on Sept. 28, 2013.

Fortunately the rain held off and we were able to enjoy a myriad of festivities such as a bounce house, egg toss, and we even had a piñata. Everyone had a great time and we are looking forward to some upcoming festive fall activities provided by our firm’s culture club!

Fun Fact from the Picnic: In addition to Mitch overseeing projects at the firm, he also has a sophisticated talent for supervising the little Hoefer Wysockians when it comes to their work on the piñata project.

Hoefer Wysocki Holds 2nd Annual Summer Softball BBQ!

Each year, Hoefer Wysocki Architecture participates in a Kansas City Architecture summer softball league. Prior to our win against HMN on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, our firm held its 2nd Annual Softball Tournament BBQ at Rosedale Park. We had an excellent turnout of over 50 fans, which along with our employees included: friends and family, kids, and dogs! Hoefer Wysocki currently has a winning record, which we hope to keep through the end of the season! Go team!!!

United Way Week Is A Hit!

The final numbers are in and we’re proud to announce we raised nearly $14,000 for the United Way! Last week’s United Way Week, on top of being a whole lot of fun, ended up with a 13% increase in donations from last year’s totals. This counts funds raised through payroll deductions and a whole range of games and contests, most of them based on reality TV and game shows from the last 30 years.

And what’s a theme week without costumes? It didn’t hurt that United Way Week fell right before Halloween, but we’ve never had a problem getting into it. The casts of That ’70s Show, Gilligan’s Island, The Amazing Race, American Idol, The Bachelor, Grey’s Anatomy and even the Jetsons made an appearance at our wrap-up party.
