The new headquarters at College and Nall in Overland Park, Kansas is now LEED Certified. The building was designed to meet the sustainable requirements through the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). Its features include erosion and sedimentation control, drip irrigation, energy management systems, on-site shower facilities, and preferred parking for low-emitting and fuel-efficient vehicles.
After 14 years of steady growth, we are moving our headquarters from the Country Club Plaza to Leawood. In an industry where staff reductions of 30 percent or more have become the standard, we are bucking the trend. Since 1996, we have gone from having three to 65 staff members and plan to add up to 60 more over the next several years.
We will be moving into the top floor of Pinnacle III, an existing 108,000 square-foot building of our design, located in the Pinnacle Corporate Centre campus, developed by Block Real Estate Services. We expect to start moving into our new location at 11460 Tomahawk Creek Parkway in September.
HWA is pleased to announce that we have been selected to provide master planning services for the City of Leawood and the Leawood Police Department. An 11 acre site that will house the city’s future Justice Center is located at 117th Street and Tomahawk Creek Parkway. This Justice Center will include a Police Department, Municipal Court, Legal Department, Information Services Department and a future Fire Substation. A second 5 acre site, located at 117th Street and Roe Avenue, will house the future Parks and Recreation.
