The St. Peters Justice Center opened for business with a ribbon cutting ceremony held on October 21, 2010. This state-of-the-art facility will serve as a justice center and house approximately 100 officers and 50 civilian employees. The municipal court, located within this facility, is to house up to 200 people. The building also serves the Board of Alderman with a chamber room to hold their meetings of up to 200 people. This room is multi-functional, allowing for Planning and Zoning Commission meetings to be held in the same room.
HWA created a truly successful and unique civic justice facility. The design focus was on a concept of unification of diverse functions, achieved by incorporating a strong civic presence through the use of axis and geometry. This 65,000 square-foot facility will provide a key cornerstone of the community, consistent with the ideals of the City of St. Peters.
